Dear Students and Parents,
We are participating in the Operation Christmas Child program again this year through Samaritan’s Purse. We would like to invite families to join us in this great opportunity to send gift boxes to children all over the world.
The attached envelope explains how the program works and what you will need to do to fill a shoebox. As much as this provides gifts for children less fortunate than our own, it is a greater opportunity for us all to practice giving to others out of our love, thanksgiving, and worship for God. Parents, take time not only to fill a box, but to talk to your child about the living conditions for many around the world and how blessed we are to have so much and to be able to celebrate Christmas with a tree and presents underneath.
K-4th grade: Boxes are available at the table where you pick up your work each Friday at the school. Please take a box if you intend to fill it up and return it for this special program. (Only one box per student at this time.) *If there are more boxes available the following week, you can take another one.
5th-8th grade: There will be a table in front of the daycare room where you can pick up your box and brochure to participate as well!
Please read the brochure carefully and include $9.00 in the envelope provided. Please do not seal the envelope. Place the envelope inside the box at the top. Do not seal your box, since every box must be checked before delivery. The boxes may be brought back to the school beginning Friday, November 6th. The last day to bring in a shoebox is Friday, November 13th. The boxes can be returned to the 4th grade room on Fridays.
Thank you so much for your support in this worthy project of Samaritan’s Purse. May you feel blessed as you give and share God’s love with others.
